A quick skin check
Tell me about allergies, sensitive skin, or any recent peel, retinol or sunburn, so we choose the right wax.
Clean, dry skin
The area is cleansed and dried so the wax grips the hair, not the skin.
Wax, one small section at a time
Warm wax goes on in the direction of hair growth and comes off quickly against it, one small area at a time.

A soothing lotion calms the skin before you go.

Normal, cream or Rica: which should you choose?
All three remove hair from the root. They differ in how they feel on your skin, and in price.
- Normal wax: the everyday choice for regular waxing, and the most budget-friendly.
- Cream wax: has added moisturising ingredients, so it is a little kinder to dry skin.
- Rica wax: a premium liposoluble wax made without rosin. It is gentler on sensitive skin, and many clients notice less redness afterwards.
For sensitive skin, and for the face and underarms, Rica is usually the gentlest choice. Not sure? Ask on WhatsApp and I will suggest one.
Before your wax
- Let the hair grow to about a quarter of an inch, roughly two to three weeks after your last wax or shave.
- Skip scrubs, retinol creams and peels on the area for two days before.
- Come with clean, dry skin: no oil, lotion or deodorant on the area.
- Waxing is not done on sunburnt, broken or irritated skin.
How often to wax
Most clients book every three to four weeks, once the hair is long enough again.
Hygiene and aftercare
Hygiene & products
- A fresh spatula every time: wax is never double-dipped.
- Single-use strips, thrown away after each client.
- Tools sanitised and a fresh sheet or towel for every client.
- Wax heated in a clean, covered warmer.
Aftercare
- Skip hot showers, steam, saunas and swimming for 24 hours.
- Keep waxed skin out of strong sun for a day, and use sunscreen after that.
- Avoid scrubs, perfumed lotions and deodorant on the waxed area for 24 hours.
- Wear loose cotton clothes after leg or body waxing.
- Exfoliate gently after two or three days to help prevent ingrown hairs.

Waxing questions
I have sensitive skin. What should I choose?
Tell me before we start about any allergies, past reactions, or creams and medicines you use on your skin. For waxing, Rica or cream wax is usually gentler than normal wax. If you’re unsure about a product, I can try it on a small patch first. Please avoid waxing on sunburnt, broken or irritated skin.
How long should hair be before waxing?
