What to expect

Talk about your hair
Tell me about dryness, hair fall or past colouring, so the treatment suits your hair.
Scalp massage
A relaxing scalp massage, with warm oil when the treatment uses it.
Cleanse
Your hair is washed with a gentle shampoo.
Mask and steam
A conditioning mask or pack, with steam to help it soak in.
Rinse and finish
A final rinse, conditioner and a gentle dry.

What happens in a hair spa

A hair spa is a deep-conditioning ritual for dry, frizzy or tired hair: massage, cleanse, a conditioning mask with steam, and a rinse. It leaves your hair soft and easier to manage.

Oil massage or hair pack?

Hair oil massage: a relaxing scalp massage with oil, good when your scalp feels dry or tense.
Hair pack: a nourishing pack for the lengths, rinsed off after, good for dull and dry hair.

Hair colour: patch test first

A patch test 48 hours before colouring is standard safety advice, even for a colour you have used before. Ask me to arrange one, and tell me about any itching or allergy you have had with hair dye.

Straightening that washes out

Hair straightening here is temporary, done with a straightening machine rather than chemicals. Your hair goes back to its natural texture after your next wash.

How often?

Hair spa: every two to four weeks for dry or coloured hair.
Oil massage and hair pack: whenever your hair and scalp need care.

Hygiene & products

A clean towel and cape for every client.
Combs, brushes and bowls cleaned and sanitised after each use.
The straightening machine is cleaned after every use.

Aftercare

Avoid shampooing for a day after a hair spa.
After colour, use a mild shampoo and lukewarm water to help the colour last.
Keep straightened hair away from water and humidity until your next wash.
Use a heat protectant whenever you style with heat at home.

Do you do haircuts?

No, I don’t do haircuts. My services are waxing, facials and clean-up, hair spa and hair care, manicure and pedicure. The full list with prices is on the Services page.

Is a patch test needed before hair colour?
